The 2-2 draw means reigning champions City are just one point clear of second-placed Liverpool with seven games remaining.

It appears Matt Doherty will not play again this season after sustaining a knee injury in the 4-0 win over Villa at the weekend. It hasn’t yet been decided whether Doherty will have surgery on the injury, which the wing-back appeared to suffer from a challenge from Villa’s Matty Cash.

Goals from Ademola Lookman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall inside six first-half minutes gave much-changed Leicester a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Wilfried Zaha pulled one back for the visitors in the second half, but Brendan Rodgers’ seven changes paid off to move them above Palace and into ninth.

Burnley’s survival hopes severely damaged by Norwich defeat. Burnley’s hopes of avoiding relegation had been boosted on Wednesday by a stirring comeback victory at home to fourth-bottom Everton. However, Sean Dyche’s men could not produce the same come back as Norwich won 2-0 at Carrow Road.
